Presidential Endorsement Update

Fmr. Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney

The Gadsden Constitution and the Gadsden Polling Institute have endorsed Mitt Romney (R-MA) as its candidate for the 2012 presidential general election. With the unconscionable Supreme Court decision to rewrite Obamacare into the largest tax in world history, conservatives of all persuasions must unite behind the only candidate who can get this law repealed, reduce the national debt, and get Americans working again by reducing this mammoth unemployment rate. The United States is under assault by a progressive cancer that cannot succeed if we want to continue to live under a Constitutional Republic that has been put in place by our Founding Fathers. We must unite to defeat the expansion of government and the tyranny that comes with a large central government. We must also overturn the Senate so that we have the necessary power to overturn what the Supreme Court was too afraid to accomplish. We must get it right this time. This is the last stand!

Incarceration of Religion

Barack Obama has spent almost his entire presidency, creating a new idea of how the Constitution is more of a guideline that does not always need to be followed. Remember back in 2001, when he said this?

Still, there are others who have spent their entire lifetime “swearing” to uphold the Constitution. Just the other day, one of our own Supreme Court justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was “advising” Egyptians on the sort of constitution they should adopt. Instead of “defending” or “upholding” the U.S. Constitution, which her job requires, she chose to advise Egypt not to follow probably the single greatest founding document of any nation. Here are her ill-worded comments:

It is really sad to see such enemies of our nation’s greatest founding documents who are making it their jobs to not uphold the Constitution, but to mold it into a new modern understanding because of its “antiquity”.

These comments seem to adequately explain the disdain progressives and liberals on the left have against our basic God-given rights.

Over the past couple weeks, we have witnessed the utter destruction of what it means to have freedom of religion in this country. The threat is against a major aspect of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, part of the original Bill of Rights which states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Through his seemingly unchecked executive powers, Obama has chosen to yet again alienate an entire culture of people with the scribble of his pen. He started off by demanding that all workplaces, both private and public, including those under religious authority, must give their employees contraceptive, abortive, and sterilization materials as part of their health care plans. The administration made sure to single out the Roman Catholic Church above all other faiths, because it is often the loudest voice when it comes to discussions on contraceptives.

The first question to ask is, HOW DOES THIS NOT VIOLATE THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION. Then ask, HOW IS THIS NOT VIOLATING THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE THAT LIBERALS LOVE TO WRAP THEMSELVES BEHIND? Then you might ask, how do contraceptives count as part of medical coverage?

Going by Obama’s animosity for the Constitution, we can see that this fits right into his ultimate goals. Obama knows that it often takes a very long time for any items forced on the American people by executive orders or by Congress to be even looked at by the Supreme Court. He also knows that with allies such as justices Ginsburg, Kagan, Sotomayor, and Breyer, who share his mindset, will also prove to be a hindrance to case hearings. Thus, creating new rules whenever he feels like it has become commonplace for the man we call president.

As we all know, Obama feels that the Constitution does not do enough to tell government what it CAN do for/to the people. It is also well-known that the left only has issues with the separation of Church and State when it is violated by members of the right. One of the hallmark aspects of ObamaCare is the fact that government mandates everyone to have healthcare coverage or face severe penalties. Since he as equated contraception to basic women’s healthcare needs, he is adding one more piece of bureaucracy into the largest threat to our liberty in most of our lifetimes.

Thankfully, members of the clergy in the Catholic Church have voiced the same concerns over the usurpation of basic rights given to us by our Creator. Here is a sampling of what is combating this iron-fisted mandate:

Members of all faiths in America are standing together, because once you rip apart one religion’s moral doctrines, you will be unstoppable to rip apart every other doctrine, leading to the complete secularization and sterilization of America. Obama is attempting to abort religion in this country piece by piece and to contracept any notion that our rights come from God and not the government.

Recently, the White House announced it will back down from mandating contraceptive coverage to religious institutions and will instead mandate that all health insurance companies provide free contraceptives to women. If you believe this to be a “compromise” or the end of Obama’s threat to religion, you are truly a moron. He is simply slinking his way around the Constitution and often bulldozing right through it to make sure that after a while, America gives up on religious freedom. If we let items like this get past our system of justice, we deserve to be forever conscripted under the new banner of secular lunacy. Stand for the Constitution and stand for the rights for all groups to worship as they please!

The Fight Has Just Begun!

It’s very simple. America is treading into possibly the most dangerous waters of its history. We have experienced invasions, World Wars, Cold Wars, and Great Depressions. But, never have we been faced with all forms of calamity as we do today.

Global uprisings, weak economies, and other outside influences have crippled our great land and forced us into parts of the world which we do not belong. Our economy has become so intertwined in global affairs that we are neglecting the wealth of possibilities that still exist in our nation today. Our nation’s military is so overstretched protecting other nations’ borders that we have neglected our own.

While there should never be a need for a treasonous rebellion within our own nation (much to some occupiers’ chagrin), it is time for a radical and revolutionary shift with the way America operates, both in foreign affairs and in domestic policy. This does not mean a radical, hopey-changey socialist march, but a revolutionary return to our founding principles that make us the greatest nation on the planet (and probably the universe).

There is only one Republican candidate who explores all the possible ways of restoring America’s constitutional power with a large focus on the 10th Amendment of the Bill of Rights:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

This man is Ron Paul. Some may question his foreign policy, but a real conservative would not advocate to

spread our empire across the world. We certainly don’t need to waste any more money with bases in countries that are no longer our enemies (Germany and Japan in particular). It is time for foreign lands (especially ones that depend on our oil money) to see how life is without the flow of capital (camels may be in high demand).

On the home front, Ron Paul has promised to cut government spending by $1 trillion in his first year. When was the last time a politician promised something that you actually believe will happen? The executive powers of the U.S. government have encroached excessively on all of our rights and it is time to scale back. Ron Paul will call together all the federal agencies and will execute them one-by-one until one of them proves their need in our society (probably not too many). It’s time to think of the United States “are” and not the United States “is”. Using Paul’s free market philosophy, each state can be treated as a shopping center. If we dislike one shopping center, there are 49 more to choose from (or maybe if Obama did this, there would still be 56 to choose from). This is similar to the idea that if you do not like how one bank operates, there are most likely a handful more to choose from. The simple fact is, free choice is better than forced choice.

If you enjoy the government directing your every facet of life (from light bulbs to health care) then please do us all a favor and stay home (which you probably were planning to do until ACORN handed you some government cash). If you want America to continue in its back-and-forth status quo situation proposed by the establishment in both parties, then you’ll love Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney. But, if you fear that a $15 trillion federal debt, a $1 million federal unfunded liability cost per citizen, a 2-to-1 federal spending to federal income level, and an economic climate that despises capitalism are bringing this nation to the edge of oblivion (which, in case you have not woken up yet, is happening each day we push the can down the road), then the only real choice is Ron Paul.

The most basic principle to being a free American is the notion that we as individuals are responsible for our own lives and decisions. We do not have the right to rob our neighbors to make up for our mistakes, neither does our neighbor have any right to tell us how to live, so long as we aren’t infringing on their rights. Freedom to make bad decisions is inherent in the freedom to make good ones. If we are only free to make good decisions, we are not really free. ~ Ron Paul

Herman Cain: Just the Beginning

Well, there you have it. The slanderous media and outright lies about sexual misbehavior have shown that politics remains an ugly business. Herman Cain is no longer running for president of the United States, but he can still do so much more from the outside to change the nature of politics in Washington, D.C.

Here is part of his speech:

However, just like Sarah Palin, Cain will undoubtedly not fade into the twilight of history. Instead, he will work on an organization that will encourage more ideas and solutions to Washington, D.C. from outside of Washington. D.C.

The important lesson to learn is that Washington, D.C. has become a nasty place. We the people, must strive to remind politicians who they work for, We don’t work for them, they work for us. I encourage everyone to study up on the remaining candidates and really look into every facet of their history. Make sure you know as much as possible about your candidate to make sure conservatism does not fade into the night as it did with George W. Bush. A repeat of his proportions will ultimately lead to another Obama or worse, the end to any party that can fight against the Democrats who, if renamed to their current leaning, would now be called the Socialist-Progressive party.

I know for myself, my support in the GOP depends solely on the next 4-8 years. For now, I am back to Ron Paul or Rick Santorum. God help us all if Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich aren’t the conservatives they paint themselves to currently be. Liberty hangs in the balance!

Congressional Bypass Surgery

Recently, President Obama has been so outraged by the resistance by his own party and by Republicans regarding his plan to “create” (or save) more jobs in America.

Back in July, during the height of talk about America defaulting on its exorbitant debt, Obama revealed a few insights into what’s going on in his mind. Watch this video of a speech he made in front of the Hispanic group La Raza:

Recently, Obama sat down with his Czars, I mean advisers, to discuss ways of bypassing Congress to get his agenda rammed through via Executive Orders:

Spoken like a true socialist. Joseph Stalin is momentarily smiling. Oh wait, never mind, he’s still being cattle prodded by Satan. Maybe Mao? No, he’s still drinking from a lake of fire. How ’bout Hitler? No, he’s too busy being the reason for firing ESPN entertainers…

Or maybe Obama just feels pressure from his own party that he can’t make his base angry. Let’s hear what Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. has to say about how Obama should bypass the Constitution to deal with unemployment. Here is the Daily Caller interview:

Sounds good Jesse. Let’s rack up more debt, bloat the government with temporary government jobs for the unemployed. Do we need to rediscover the profit to loss margins of Amtrak, the USPS, and Solyndra again?

Let’s just hope Obama sticks to his teleprompter, or else this could happen:

‘Cain’sian Economics

In recent debates and in media appearances, presidential candidate and Washington outsider, Herman Cain (formerly CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, radio host, columnist, and mathematician in ballistics for the U.S. Navy) has presented us with one of the best ideas for attracting new business to the U.S. and retaining current business. As the economy is (or should be) the main focus of Election 2012, few GOP candidates today have come up with well thought out plans as Mr. Cain.

The so called 9-9-9 Plan can best be described, well, by the man himself:

And because of his outstanding performance in the Florida debate, he has just won the Florida Straw Poll which many recognize as early indicators of higher level candidates. With a commanding 37.1% victory, Cain trounced the likes of Rick Perry (15.4%), Mitt Romney (14%), Rick Santorum (10.88%), etc. With Perry’s declining ability to compose himself in a debate and Romney’s strategy to play to stay at his current popularity level, the primary season is practically screaming for fresh conservatism (i.e. Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Gary Johnson, and Michele Bachmann).

The thing about Mr. Cain, is there is always a substitute for Washington same-old-same-old. What better way to stir up the economy than to bring in someone as president who has shown his command over it from the private sector, the ONLY place that creates real lasting jobs. It’s time to throw out “Yes We Can” and bring in “Yes We Cain!”

The Referendum

New York Congressman, Bob Turner

Last Tuesday, we saw yet another early indicator that Americans are waking up to the real cancer in our government and the greatest hindrance to job creation, progressive socialism. I speaking of course about the special election for U.S. Congress that took place in New York’s 9th District. The seat previously belonged to the embattled former congressman and Twitter sexting fiend Anthony Weiner.

Republican candidate Bob Turner, a New York businessman took on Democrat state assemblyman David Weprin. The 9th District covers portions of Queens and Brooklyn in New York City. The district has a large population of Orthodox Jews and is composed over 3/4 by registered Democrats. Turner is an Irish Catholic while Weprin is Jewish.

Most likely a vote against President Obama‘s anti-Israel stance and his inability to stabilize the nation’s economy, Turner became the first Republican since 1923 (nearly 90 years) to become a representative of this district with a 53% to 47% margin.

This election seems to fall into a similar category as the 2009 GOP pickups as Chris Christie of New Jersey and Bob McDonnell of Virginia, respectively, picked up each state’s governorships. Or maybe it’s similar to Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown winning Ted Kennedy‘s seat. Or maybe it can be compared to the sweeping GOP majority that ousted Nancy Pelosi out of the queen’s seat as Speaker of the House.

Any way you slice it, 2012 is simply a year that Democrats wish to hold off as much as possible. Fortunately, science is on the side of the GOP as there is no invention to slow the passage of time yet. It’s referendum time, so sit back, and as Terrell Owens once said, “Getcha popcorn ready!”

Debatable Debate

As many of you may know, last night there was another GOP Presidential debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, hosted by the NBC network on MSNBC with pregame from Chris Matthews (lunatic) and postgame from Rachel Maddow (queen of liberals), Rev. Al Sharpton (living-in-the-past liberal), Ed Shultz (Marxist progressive) and one and only Lawrence O’Donnell (self-avowed socialist). But enough about the obvious slant.

Let’s focus on the participants. Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann; always prepared to fight with the big boys and is not afraid to remain true to her constitutionally conservative values. Georgia businessman Herman Cain; a man with a 9-9-9 Plan who will add much needed private sector experience to a White House that can’t create jobs. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich of Georgia; a man who offers momentary brilliance and who isn’t afraid to talk tough when it is warranted (and oh boy, it’s warranted). Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr.; nothing like his father and… wait, can Democrats run as Republicans? Texas Congressman Ron Paul; easily the most intelligent candidate who can kick the progressive crap out of the over 100 years of socialism that has infested our government. Texas Governor Rick Perry; a man who’s state has gained almost half of the nation’s jobs since Obama took over and who makes you understand the phrase “Don’t Mess with Texas!” Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney; this guy can debate very well, but he has to be dragged to the adult table, aka the Tea Party. And a personal favorite on the social issues side, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum; a man who knows conservatism like no other who will guarantee the repeal of Obamacare.

Here is Ron Paul taking government handouts to task. Live free or die!

Little “Evil” Guitars

No, this isn’t a story about a Van Halen song. Instead it’s about how evil the guitars produced in America are. Yes, you heard me right.

Back in 2009, the well-known guitar company, Gibson, was raided by federal authorities under suspicion that the imported wood they were using in guitar construction was illegally acquired. The authorities were after the company’s ebony fingerboard blanks that they suspected of being illegally brought into America via Madagascar. Yes folks, the wood police are on the prowl. Because nothing is more dangerous to the world’s health than strange wood from a strange land.

According to the company’s press release, “Gibson has obtained sworn statements and documents from the Madagascar government and these materials, which have been filed in federal court, show that the wood seized in 2009 was legally exported … and that no law has been violated.” More recently, Gibson factories were again raided by the feds. The feds also believed that Gibson would be better served if they moved their operations entirely to Madagascar. But what happened to reducing our offshoring so that we can instill a rise in domestically produced jobs? Ok, let’s not get too carried away. I’m sure there is no agenda at play here.

While he may be a longshot for his presidential bid, Michigan Congressman Thad McCotter is on the case! Why would the feds need to trespass on Gibson factory property if there are sworn statements filed in federal court regarding the legality of the imported wood? When asked about this governmental travesty on KMJ 105.9 in Fresno, California he had this to say, “It‘s one more reason big government doesn’t rock,” adding, “You‘re looking at American artisans having the federal government come in and tell them they’d be better off if they let people in Madagascar or elsewhere do the work is insane… That’s outsourcing by government fiat from an administration that claims to oppose it.”

Here is his full radio interview:

McCotter probably will not win the GOP nomination for president, but we definitely need more politicians who care more for the Constitution than their standing in any polls or their attempt to become chair of a committee.

I wonder if Mr. McCotter can jam out on this one?

Eye on Iowa

Between the GOP debate on Thursday, the Iowa State Fair, and today’s Straw Poll, the GOP candidates vying for Iowa support were in full swing.

We saw some candidates focusing on “Gotcha” questions, rather than the issues facing America.

We saw a tit-for-tat between the twins from Minnesota.

And we saw just how diverse the ideas of these candidates truly are. Do we go all out and attack failed domestic and foreign economic investments as Ron Paul suggests? (Yes) Do we support the moral issues such as ending abortion and preserving the sanctity of marriage (a religious term) as between one man and one woman (or whatever the religious community decides) as Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann want? (Yes) Or do we just ignore moral issues and hide the fact that we worked in the Obama administration as Jon Huntsman, Jr. has done? (HELL no)

For all those liberals out there who think there is no excitement in this GOP race, they are sadly mistaken. The race is only going to get testier and tougher. The candidates who really want to change America’s direction will most certainly capitalize over those who just want to win an election.

And on a side note, we saw Rick Perry toss his cowboy boots into the ring in South Carolina!

It is important to note that even the first campaigns for the presidency at the beginning of our nation were rife with insults and accusations. Queue the Adams v. Jefferson tape! Note, this tape did not exist in the early 1800s seeing how video did not yet exist.
